Christopher Prat graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris, one of the four major art academies of the world. He was selected to be a Member of the artistic Casa de Velázquez from 2004-2006, and was awarded Spain’s most prestigious Angel Painting Prize in 2006. Past collectors of Prat’s works include: Liberbank of Spain, Museum Valdepeñas and the Parliament of La Rioja.
Prat uses fuzzy edged color blocks that the eye cannot focus on to construct an impression of time and space, but without any subjective emotions. He invites the viewer to gaze and focus upon these fuzzy edges and immerse himself or herself into the overflowing colors of the painting. This allows the viewer tune into and experience the purest and most primitive form of spectation.
